Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190308-D84BA-2147382308. Matched catalog product: KitchenAid KITCHENAID KUDS30IXSS4. Incident: Around January 1st, 2019, I purchased two hand-held wire whisks branded "KitchenAid" at a local Kroger Store. In normal use and domestic dishwasher cleaning, the chrome collar on both whisks cracked around the wires leaving a small, sharp, loose plastic fragment which could fall into the food being prepared. This happened on one whisk and the second whisk developed a similar fracture on the collar surrounding the wire.
