Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190327-B41DA-1843611. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Whirlpool WFG524SLAB (Whirlpool Gas stove). Incident: CO2 alarm went off and submitter called the fire department. Fire marshal informed caller that high level of CO2 was leaking from the stove. Whirlpool repaired the stove under warrantee in 2015 for the same issue. Caller also wanted to report that the buttons on the front of the stove can be bumped and turn the stove on unexpectedly. Document #H1930104A 4/13/19 To Whom It Concern: I want to notify C.P.S.C. regarding report no # 20190327-B41DA-1843611. Contacted Whirlpool when the problem occurred in 2019. The Representative was shrewd on the phone when I explained what happened. Next tine I called & they informed me that the Fire Department aren't qualified to do CO readings nor are they trained to do that. I have a recorded phone call w/ Whirlpool. They are informing me that the C.O. meter has to come from their office & then sent to [REDACTED] in order to do the reading. I have 2 children & a disabled spouse and not a working stove. There is no way to heat water up & no way to cook meals within our home. [REDACTED] Fire Department goes Through extensive, qualified, certified training in carbon monoxide & other hazard chemicals. This is their specialty. Whirlpool is refusing to take the responsibility ensuring resolve a problem. Carbon monoxide is a silent killer & is to be taken very serious. Before contacting your company, I contacted Whirlpool & a Rep was shrewd & I found out that they state I had refused service. Which isn't true. And yes it did kill 2 of my birds that the cage was within the room where the stove is located. I have a opened kitchen/dining room combined
