Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190408-1EB7D-2147381782. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: Dyson TY4-US-JAA1008A (Dyson V7 cordless vacuum in the color pink.). Incident: I was vacuuming with a Dyson v7 cordless vacuum, when I was shocked by the battery and the vacuum shut off. The vacuum has its charging port on the top of the handle where you have to hold the vacuum. I have used this product before and had received little shocks, but this last one actually shocked me so much that it drained the battery for the vacuum and the vacuum had to be recharged. The shock also left my hand feeling tingly. Like most people when deep cleaning, my hands do tend to sweat a little. I'm sure this had something to do with the intensity of the shock. I have addressed the incident with Dyson customer service, but they were very rude and said that there products do not shock people. I am just filing this report so that there is evidence of my incidence, and to prevent others from being shocked as well.
