Incident: kitchenaid dishwasher Model KUDS30IXSS4 serial no. F13512050 intense burning smell fumes filled our condo. Located fumes were coming from inside the dishwasher. I reset the breaker and turned the dishwasher on and it immediately tripped the breaker again which only serves the dishwasher. I unplugged the dishwasher and the breaker has not tripped again. This Model dishwasher has been recalled for a fire safety hazard however the serial number Range is from FY9 to FY053 2009-2010. We purchased our dishwasher September 25, 2011. Clearly the fire hazard safety issue was not resolved. I am going to be contacting the company directly as well as the information on the recall states the end date for filing a claim as well as not including the serial number of our dishwasher.
