Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190502-D8219-2147381266. Severity: Unspecified. Product: Frigidaire LFID2426TF (Frigidaire dishwasher stainless steel.). Incident: On the date of 04/22/2019, we purchased a dishwasher from Lowes. The dishwasher we bought was a Frigidaire. We took it back to our office, and went home for the day. The next morning when I arrived to work, I proceeded to install the dishwasher. Once the dishwasher was installed we performed the wet-test and every thing was good. Once the dishwasher was running for approximately 1 hour, one of my employees came in and said the dishwasher was "on fire". I went into our break room, and sure enough smoke was coming from the tub vents. I opened the dishwasher and found that the lower spray bar was laying on the heating element and melted. It appears as if the orbital arm on this unit was not properly attached to the spray bar arm. Lowes returned the product for another unit, from a different manufacture.
