Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190507-42971-2147381159. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Hamilton Beach Flexbrew Model 49976 (It is a coffee maker that makes pots on one side and Kcups on the second side. This is the replacement the company sent. The pot leaks clear water on the pot side. You already have a file on this that I saw in your archives.). Incident: This is the email I sent to Hamilton Beach Customer Service describing the problem: I am writing to you once again about a problem with this coffee maker leaking clear water on the full pot side. In September 2018 I wrote to your customer service to describe the problem I had with the coffee maker. You told me to cut the wire on the coffee maker, send a picture. and you replaced the coffee maker. I love this coffee maker but it seems to have real leakage problems. These photos are of the bottom of the new coffee pot that was sent, so you can see the serial number This model of coffee maker seems to have a defect that is well known on the internet because I found several YouTube videos about how to fix it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jnuk68pLqpo This link is not the only one of the videos on how to fix the water leakage I found just by searching for this coffee pot on the internet. I even tried to do the fix, but my leakage must be up in the closed area and while I was willing to take screws out of the bottom to see if it was something I could easily fix, I will not take the whole side off the pot. We use this pot almost every day and although I can still use the K-cup side, I need to make a full pot a couple of times a week.At this point I believe I deserve a refund. The water from this pot ran down my cabinets onto my slate floors while I was doing other things in the kitchen. This is unacceptable and I do not want water damage on my floors and cabinets. Hamilton Beach Brands Inc. 49976 Flex Brew 2-Way Coffee Maker $115.71 I found this price quote on Amazon. I will not
