Source model text: i12080A. Incident: About 4:15 am our Kidde smoke alarms alarmed for about 1second, stopped, and then alarmed again for about 1 second. I inspected the house and there were no apparent fires or smoke. I then located the unit that initiated the alarm by seeing the red alarm lamp that went on and off periodically. I removed the alarm and inspected it. It was unusually warm to the touch and had the smell of electronics that was hot. I recognized the smell because I have an extensive background in electronics. It is Kidde model i12080A. Date of manufacturer June 21, 2017. It was install in my home in September of 2017. I have the product in hand and can turn it over to the CPSC if needed.
