Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190624-98A24-2147380310. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Breville Smart Oven Pro Model BOV845 BSS, batch 2136. Source model text: BOV845BSS. Incident: During the last couple of weeks, the GFCI on the circuit for this toaster over had tripped. On this particular date, 06/22/2019, while using the toaster over, a large amount of sparks came out of the vent on the right side of the appliance. This caused the circuit breaker to trip. It was a frightening experience as I was standing right next to the toaster oven and saw the sparks. I have left the device unplugged since and am waiting to return it to the manufacturer.
