Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190821-3EDDE-2147379150. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: LG DLGX5171W (LG Gas Dryer Model: DLGX5171W). Incident: I have an LG Gas Dryer and it has started to make my laundry room smell a lot like gas. I called the Gas company thinking it was my gas line and they came to check it out. It is not the gas line. The Gas company inserted a device in the dryer and turned it on for a bit to run. The device started marking gas detection on it. Gas company told me to reach out to LG and have someone come out and service the dryer and to not use till it got fixed. When I use the Dryer my clothes is EXTREMLY HOT and the Gas smell is pretty strong. This seems to be similar issue that other LG Gas Dryers have had and the fact that my model isn't in the recall doesn't mean that my dryer isn't defected as well like the other models. This is a very dangerous issue as I sometimes throw last load at night before going to sleep. If we don't notice this and keep getting the gas it could possibly cause a fire in our house.
