Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190919-AA237-2147377591. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: LG LSE4613ST. Source model text: LSE4613ST.BSTLLGA. Incident: The knob design has from the first week led to unintentionally turning on burners. I was shocked to see how easy it is to do this just by leaning over or brushing against the front of the range top. The bottom of the knob protrudes beyond the front edge. So far, the bell that sounds has saved us from starting a fire, but WE ARE AFRAID THAT THIS DESIGN ISSUE WILL CAUSE A HOUSE FIRE. The knobs can be easily redesigned to avoid this by tapering the lower part of the knob. But this is currently a hazard. We love the range, but are concerned about its safety, not just for us but for other customers too.
