Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20191110-69953-2147376660. Severity: Injury, First Aid Received by Non-Medical Professional. Product: Teavana Tristan (Teavana Tristian tea-infusing pitcher.). Incident: I bought this glass pitcher from a Teavana store thinking I would drink more tea at home but have t used it. I bought it several years ago. In 2015 I believe when I was traveling more. I used it yesterday for the third time and the thing just kind of shattered on me. It didnt explode per se but nothing hit it or caused it to crack or shatter, just the heat. I had put hot water in the thing but it wasnt boiling or anything. When I went to pour it it literally just cracked then shattered around the handle. It burned my left hand (which was holding the cup I was pouring tea into) up to my wrist. It was that bad. Like I didnt go to emergency department or anything, just obviously painful. Teavana Seemed like a legit company and it was t cheap. My bill for this, some loose tea, and a cup to go was almost $100. The product is defective and dangerous! Please consider a recall. I believe the model is Teavana Tristin?
