Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20191111-D4E94-2147376632. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Frigidaire/Electrolux Model: FFGF3054TSD (Frigidaire/Electrolux Gas Range Model: FFGF3054TSD S/N: VF92620487). Incident: Frigidaire/Electrolux Gas Range Model FFGF3054TSD, S/N VF92620487. 60 days in use. For the 1st time, I used the broiler-which is a top broiler- and put 2 slices of pizza on a sheet of aluminum foil, on the bottom rack. Within 5 minutes, from another room, I could see smoke pouring out of the left side of the stove. When I got to the oven, I reached in and pulled out-what I thought was going to be scorched pizza, yet it was not even warm yet; let alone burned. I immediately turned off the gas supply, and unplugged the stove; and pulled it away from the wall. Smoke continued to pour out of the top left and the center vent. Both first floor smoke alarms went off. When I put my hand on this area of the stove, it was too hot to actually touch. It took over 30 minutes for it to be cool enough to touch. The smell seemed to be electrical and/or insulation. When viewing online, you can see where similar Frigidaire Models, the insulation caught fire in 2010 and 2015. This model needs to be removed from the market, and recalled before houses burn down, and people die.
