Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20200102-BEAD7-2147375642. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Noble Excellence "Madison" brand "Madison" (Noble Excellence "Madison" brand earthenware cups, bowls and plates.). Incident: We purchased Noble Excellence "Madison" brand earthenware cups, bowls and plates on 9/28/2019 from Dillard's Department Store in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. The label on the bottom says "Dishwasher and Microwave Safe." We've been aware that the plates get too hot to handle when used in the microwave, which is inconsistent with the "Microwave Safe" label. But on 12/30/2019, we were roasting nuts on a Madison plate in our {REDACTED} microwave at the default "10" power level, and after 4 minutes, the plate exploded. No one was injured, because the explosion occurred inside the microwave. This earthenware is extremely dangerous, and we'll no longer use any of the Noble Excellence pieces in the microwave. The "Dishwasher and Microwave Safe" label is incorrect and false. Others need to be warned, and this product should be recalled.
