Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20200410-3B167-2147372978. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Haier HW80-B14636N (prior Haier unit). Source model text: HLC1700AXW. Incident: Our Haier HLC1700AXW ventless combination washer/drier unit stopped working a couple months ago without warning or error code. Recently, we decided to investigate to see if we could resell the unit since we are moving. I opened the back to install the shipping bolts and noticed the acute smell of burnt plastic. I removed the top and clearly saw signs of electrical fire. Upon investigation we found that the wire harness, plastic, and control board connections had melted and fused.
