Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20200604-A3FA3-2147371911. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Matched catalog product: Samsung Model # RF28HMEDBSR. Source model text: RF28HMEDBSR/AA. Incident: I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in 2015. This unit lasted one year before it started going bad. The refrigerator has an icemaker installed that on a continual basis will freeze up and drop the temperature of the refrigerator to an unsafe level for food. This also results in the icemaker not producing ice. I have called Samsung on many occasions and they refused to send a repair man out to help with the issue. I am unwilling to pay for a repair man as this was virtually a new unit. I am forced to remove all food from the refrigerator in the freezer in order to defrost the unit so that it will Restart at a safe temperature. I have three children living in the home and I cannot risk food being perishable as I have a child with special allergies and food needs. I called Samsung at least once a year due to the fact that this product has a [REDACTED] and they continue to refuse to help remedy the problem.
