SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20200627-7D59A-2147371445. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Microsoft Surface Book 2. Incident: My Microsoft surfacebook 2 laptop computer was being charged at my desk overnight. I noticed that the point where the charger connects to the computer had begun to melt and and had burnt. I reached out to Microsoft, but they claimed it was caused by dirt without actually inspecting the product. They refused to look at, let alone repair/replace the defective product. I am concerned because it is clearly a fire hazard.
