Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20200709-D4BFA-2147371208. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Matched catalog product: Samsung Model Number- RF18HFENBSR US. Source model text: RF263BEAESP/AA. Incident: I purchased a brand new Samsung fridge in January 2016 and started having problems with it 6 months later. We came home and noticed that the fridge temperature wasnt cold enough to keep the food from spoiling. After throwing all the ruined food out, we had someone come out and replace the thermistor. About 6 months after that, the freezer started freezing up to one giant ice block and we couldnt get ice out or even pull the ice box out of the fridge. We had it serviced for the ice maker, then it happened again over and over. Ever since the ice maker started freezing up, its leaked water constantly out of the fridge and onto our hardwood floor, so theres constantly a puddle of water on the floor and every time we open the fridge door water pours out onto the floor. Weve gone through fixing it ourselves, calling out service people to fix it, and it shouldnt be that way with a new fridge.
