Rated voltage 115 V. Current 8.1 A. Made in China. Customer service 1-844-801-8880). Incident: Dehumidifier was plugged into a regular electrical socket. Appliance had been working normally, and filter was clean. Appliance was being used in the closed garage to lower the humidity. Appliance had been running for less than two hours Stopped working. Thought the home fuse had tripped, but it was fine. When I shook the cord, the appliance came back on. I unplugged the electrical device and saw a seriously corroded electrode. Only one electrode of the plug was impacted. The ground and the other electrode were fine. The corroded electrode was black and the plastic was melted around it. The area around the electrode was built up and not flat anymore.. The cord was also bent, suggesting that maybe the inside the cadding the wire was melting away. When I unplugged the appliance.ade in China. I purchased two of these Emerson dehumidifiers from Brandsmart USA in West Palm Beach, Florida. Now I am concerned they are a fire hazard.
