Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20200820-5198A-2147370345. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Fridgidaire FGBD2438PF4A (Fridgidaire Gallery Front Control Built in Dishwasher Model FGBD2438PF4A). Incident: As we were standing near the dishwasher, we hear an unusual noise. We turned it off. We observed water coming up from under our wood flooring near the dishwasher. My spouse observed water coming from the dishwasher and we removed all the water we could from the dishwasher and the floor. We removed the dishwasher from its area and found a burned area on the bottom of the plastic tub caused by the heating element. There was plastic drippings and soot on the floor under this and could of started a fire if we hadn't acted so fast. I have left a message for frigidaire on 8/18/20 for not able to get a live person on their customer service line. Left a message on their [REDACTED] page for that is the ONLY way I have found to send a message to them. No response back but it has been read. We had a warranty with this product but it has expired. Product is 5 years old and the extended warranty expired last year. I see this has happened to several people and this product needs to be recalled. MODEL: FGBD2438PF SERIAL: TH44319382
