Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20200903-AF9C5-2147370051. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Frigidaire Model number FFGW2415QSB Model FFGW2415QS (Gas Wall Oven H/A-Exc/Wall Oven 24 inch Silver). Incident: Frigidaire Gas Wall Oven purchased June 6, 2017 malfunctioned and could have started a house fire. I understand that the Frigidaire Electric Wall Oven had a similar problem and was recalled. Why wouldn't they check the gas oven ? Oven when turned on would immediately heat to 600 degrees (as tested by technician) instead of the 350 degrees of which I had selected. During this time the broiler never went off although not selected. Unit turned itself off and reset to default 12:00 setting. This appears to be more than a normal problem of an oven. This oven was used only approximately 50% of normal usage. Although frigidaire claims it is not an recall item, it should be. Frigidaire please stand behind your products. In the past you have stood behind your name with your products. I personally feel this is a malfunction on a stove just 3 years old.
