Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20200906-DAFD0-2147369986. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: HP 2LV24UA#ABA (HP Spectre Laptop Model - 2LV24UA#ABA). Incident: The HP laptop I purchased around 28 Nov 2018 was a 2LV24UA#ABA. I noticed the back cover popping up around 2019 but did not report it as I thought it was just a simple plastic cover popping up. However around Mar 2020 the said popping became bigger - and just realised it's the battery inside that has started to swell. Do note I have a HP care pack (warranty) still available upto 2021. I am not in the US currently, and now stationed in Singapore for work. HP does not want to cover the replacement of the battery because as they have noted I am outside of the US already - however, I have seen that in this HP Spectre laptop model, many consumers have already swollen batteries. I am not able to travel to the US due to coronavirus restrictions. - Serial Number:? 5CD842B31T - Case Number(s): [REDACTED] HP still refuses to
