Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20200930-83467-2147369476. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Haier HW80-B14636N (prior Haier unit). Incident: Sent this to the manufacturer: This unit worked fine for a few years but this past month started acting up. It would trip a house fuse repeatedly. I thought it was my home's electrical issue but electrician found a burned out outlet inside wall. Tried using A/C after repair but kept tripping fuse. I ran an extension cord to try different outlet and the A/C worked but we noticed after a while that the extension cord began melting. It caused smoke and nearly a fire. I have pictures if you wish to see. Obviously I have stopped using the unit. Thank you.
