Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20210310-09E57-2147365425. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Pyrex It's shattered, so I can't make it out. (Pyrex baking dish, [REDACTED] tinted light transparent blue, Eight inch square, brownie baking pan or casserole baking pan, thick glass. Bought at Walmart.). Incident: My Pyrex [REDACTED] bakeware exploded/ shattered while while cooking with it. It's a 8 inch square casserole glass pan. Tinted blue. It made a big broken glass mess on the stove with the food. I called the Pyrex company to see if there is a recall on this item and to let Pyrex know what happened. The Warranty representative said she didn't know if there was a recall. She said Pryex will replace it. But I told her that I don't want the same product replaced because it will shatter on me again, so I asked her if Pryex makes plastic? She said I have to talk to customer care center ( I think that's what she called it), and she they don't have a phone number and they only have an email but she can't give the email or phone number to me and I must give her my email first, then they will contact me. I told the same warranty representative that I researched this online and there are others over the past 10 years who have had the same exploding/ shattering Pryex bakeware problem. The warranty rep responded by saying, "Don't believe everything you read online". I told her that everybody can't be wrong and this is a very dangerous product, the glass could physically hurt somebody when it explode and shatters. She still did not transfer me to the correct department to resolve the dispute. I researched more and found this website to report the shattered Pryex. This product is dangerous. It should be removed from circulation. I bought mine at Walmart.
