SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20210311-6A12D-2147365416. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: SureFire PLR-B (SureFire Stiletto Pro 1,000 lumen flashlight, black in color, model PLR-B, 1F-184961 Model PLR-B). Incident: Product is a SureFire Stiletto Pro flashlight. It is the 1,000 lumen version. I believe it is fairly new to the market. There is a small warning on the flashlight near the light bulb that says "hot surface". This flashlight is flat in shape and not round like most flashlights. My intent was to be able to carry this flash light in my pocket on a daily basis. There were a couple of times that the button to turn on the flashlight accidentally got bumped and turned the flash light on when it was in my pocket. I quickly noticed the warmth coming from the flash light. It was a burning sensation to the skin, through the clothing, but did not cause a burn that needed to seek medical attention. Yesterday when I had the flashlight in my back pocket on my jeans, once again the flashlight got turned on. As I was sitting in the chair I started to smell something burning. I quickly reached for the flashlight and it was extremely hot and I could smell something was burnt. I looked the flashlight over and it appeared to be fine. I mentioned it to my husband. When I got home later in the evening my husband noticed a burn spot on the t-shirt I was wearing exactly above the pocket I had the flashlight in. The flashlight burned a hole in my tshirt. I have reached out to the manufacturer and received a fairly generic response of sorry you are not happy with the product. I feel like this item needs to be recalled or at least an investigation as to if this one particular flashlight is defective.
