Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20210420-E96EE-3218858. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Bahmor 2000AB (Balmor Coffee Roaster Model 2000AB). Incident: Near approx. 12/14/2020: The first time he had an issue with the machine, the drum that rotates, when the coffee was roasting, jumped off its yoke (V-shape bracket). When he tried to stop the roaster, none of the buttons he pressed, stopped the machine. The consumer grabbed a glove and removed the drum. 12/2020: The consumer contacted the firm and reported the issue to the firm. He received an email back from the firm indicating that they would review the matter and investigate it further. It was also suggested that he re-bend the yoke, which he did. He has not experienced that problem again. 4/2021: The roaster has 2 modes. One is automatic and the other is manual. He had always used manual, but he recently used the machine in the program mode. The P5- setting is the hottest in the manual mode and the P1- setting, is the hottest for automatic. Its unclear why they are reversed, depending on the mode. Part of the way through the roasting process, he changed the setting. The roaster started the second crack, the consumer pressed the cooling option and the fan rotation changed. He walked away thinking it was cooling. One has to watch the machine through the entire roasting process, but not the cooling process. He returned 10 minutes later, and the machine was still roasting. The consumer stopped the machine (unsure how). He did not notice any damage to the machine, but was concerned that the coffee beans might catch fire. He removed them immediately and took them outside. 4/10/2021: The consumer reported this latest incident to the firm, but never received a response from
