Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20210528-19639-2147363853. Severity: Injury, Emergency Department Treatment Received. Product: Generac 7043 (It is a Generac Generator 19.5/22KW, approx dimensions: 50"L x 24"w x 30" T Model 7043). Incident: We purchased a Generac standby generator and it has run on three occasions since Feb., and each time has filled the home with Carbon Monoxide. The first time we were evacuated by the Fire Dept. We have shut the unit down for fear of it coming on should we encounter an outage. We have contacted the contractor who put it in and they did move it away from the home, but we continued to get readings inside when it came on. We have also contacted Generac and both Generac and the contractor are unwilling to help any further and continue to tell us the unit is safe. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I am also my Mom's caretaker and she lives with me. She is disabled and also on oxygen. Thankfully the FD was able to get her out.
