Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20210619-391C1-2147363420. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: KitchenAid KITCHENAID KUDS30IXSS4. Source model text: Gourmet Utility Whisk. Incident: I bought the KitchenAid Gourmet Utility Whisk, 10.5-Inch, Matte Black on Amazon.com. This whisk has a small silver ring at the top of the handle. This morning a piece of the silver piece broke off while I was making a waffle mix. I discovered this when I took a bite of the waffle and bit down on something hard. I found that there were two broken plastic pieces of the handle cooked into the waffle. Luckily, I spat out the hard piece to inspect and did not try to continue chewing or swallow the plastic pieces. I also want to note a piece of the handle had broken off before while I was using it back in December 2020, but that time I noticed the plastic in the mix. I should have thrown it away then. This whisk is dangerous and presents a choking hazard.
