Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20210714-5487C-2147362880. Severity: Injury, Emergency Department Treatment Received. Product: Ninja CO351B (Ninja Foodi Power Blender & Processor System. It is black/silver in color and has typical dimensions for a home blender. Model CO351B UPC 1121). Incident: I purchased this Ninja Foodi Power Blender & Processor System on 5/28/21 and was injured the second time I used it on 6/2/21 while making a smoothie. After removing the lid and while pouring, the razor-sharp blade assembly suddenly fell out of the pitcher and struck my right wrist, resulting in a deep cut needing three stitches. I have a video showing how the blades fall out and razor-sharp the blades are, as well as pictures of my injury. I was extremely fortunate that the blades did not hit a blood vessel/tendon/ligament and cause more serious injury. The design of this blender is absolutely terrible and a hazardous danger to users. Your other option is to open the tiny spout on the lid, which does not pour out thick contents easily at all. After getting hurt, I was initially shocked why the manufacturer wouldnt have warnings to prevent this injury. The fact that I had to carefully look for such warnings and instructions makes them defective. The two warnings I could find were on the pitcher lid and the Quick Start instructions (I have pictures upon request). Its lid warning fails to comply with best standard warning practices and ANSI Z535 by failing to mention the spe
