Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20210804-3E595-2147361388. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Samsung Model Number- RF18HFENBSR US. Source model text: RF26J7500SR/AA. Incident: Our Samsung 26 cu. ft. 3-Door French Door Refrigerator with CoolSelect Pantry in Stainless Steel Model Number: RF26J7500SR/AA has issues staying cold and the internal temp has risen to 55 degrees in a unit set to 37. This is while the front panel displayed a temperature of 37 degrees so we did not know initially. This is unsafe food temperatures. I have contacted Samsung about the issue and they say it is not an issue people have had before. However, I am reporting this because there are a lot of people who have experienced the same issues. Food safety is very important to ensure people do not get sick and the company refuses to recognize the defect. Fortunately, nobody in my house got sick, but with the high temperature and incorrect display, this easily could have happened. The fridge is used by my whole family, including my young child. This happened at the end of June with the temps, but we have had issues with the back freezing over in the past, which is what seemed to cause it since it couldn't stay cool.
