Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20210830-13D2D-2147360787. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: BlueStar Model# BWO30AGS (Blue Star 30 inch natural gas wall oven. Glass French doors. Stainless steel. Model# BWO30AGS). Incident: We purchased a Blue Star wall oven which was installed properly. The manufacturer is Prizer Painter Stoveworks, Inc. 318 June Avenue Blandon, PA 19510. However, the oven generates excessive heat towards the kitchen cabinets causing much damage to the cabinets. There is no way this should happen. We have repeatedly asked the manufacturer verbally and in writing in the past to send a technician to our house to inspect the oven to determine first hand what is needed to correct the problem. We did not think it was too much to ask of them. All we are getting is avoidance and a runaround. They refuse to acknowledge the problem. Because of the excessive heat problem we limited the use of our oven. We are concerned that this excessive heat could cause a fire. We paid over $4,000 for the oven. It is not just an inconvenience but also is a real safety concern.
