SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20220103-2478B-2147358193. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: GoTrax (AKA: GoLabs, Go Trax, GoLabs, Inc.) GOTARX GKS LUMIOS Electric Scooter (GoTrax GKS Luminos eScooter for kids (blue) ordered via Amazon and delivered 12/23/21. Assembled, charged and operated exactly as described in the manual. This is horrifying that my son thinks his gift from Santa was "like a bomb" and he had just gotten off the scooter. We were about to leave the house when the smoke caught my attention and then the alarm went off. I purchased via Amazon and the Brand name is GoTrax but I think this might be a shell company for Tao Motors based in YongKang, Zhejiang, China. I call and email them however it just keeps telling me that due to covid they are "busy" and will contact me in 1-3 days which is what everyone else seems to say on the BBB search I did.
