Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20220131-67378-2147357768. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: LG DLHC1455W (LG heat pump dryer model DLHC1455W). Incident: LG Heat Pump Dryer DLHC1455W While drying my second load in this brand new dryer it stopped with error code F1. According to the manual this means that the temperature inside the drum has risen suddenly and to call for service. Since I was past the two days from date of purchase to be able to return I contacted LG through their chat to obtain warranty service. The company they contract with and wrote my service order with failed to show on the day scheduled and sent me a message at 7pm that my service had been rescheduled for the next day. The technician who showed up examined and tested the machine and informed me that they could not service this model as they had no information or service manuals for it and the only a LG technician could work on this machine. It is important to note that while the technician was running the machine through various cycles it set off all the smoke alarms in my house. Back to chatting with LG they informed me that they were going to open a new case and send it to special service to do their best to find a technician who could work on this machine and they would contact me in three to five business days to schedule a service confirming I would continue to be without a dryer for another few weeks. This unit cant be serviced currently by their warranty contractor but more importantly potentially poses a significant risk of a house fire.
