Incident narrative
SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20220207-D0D60-2147357670. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Roku Roku Premier (Roku Premier HD. 4K, HDR). Incident: Turned TV on this past Saturday 2/5/2022 and found a message on screen to contact Roku support/temp. It was not user friendly to write up the concern via their website. The TV screen locked. We reset the device, turned off the device. Still the message of overheating. We packed the device on ice packs to cool it down but the device continues to run hot. We unplugged, repackaged the device and took it to the store We purchased only 5 months ago. But they would not take it back We would have to contact Roku. They gave me a phone number but it was not for consumers to call. [REPORT UPDATE:] This remote is a SAFETY HAZARD. Not sure why this remote is acting this way but the severe safety issue needs to be addressed. I am not risking my life or my family's life with a remote that gets too hot to hold.
