Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20220419-9FC3F-2147356736. Severity: Injury, Level of care not known. Matched catalog product: Samsung Model Number- RF18HFENBSR US. Incident: My Samsung refrigerator stopped cooling to a safe temp for food storage. As a result, I became ill after eating food from the refrigerator before realizing the temps had been somewhere between 54-58 degrees for a few days. This unit is part of a class-action lawsuit against Samsung. I have filled with the NJ BBB and the NJ Attorney General, due to the known manufaturing and design defects in these units. Samsung knowingly sold these defective units, even though there is no fix for the compressor issue or the ice maker issue. Samsun has refused a refund and instead has offered yet another fix for the unit. Again, no fix will help a manufacturing and design defect.
