SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20220511-A178A-2147356245. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: Arctic Cat Norseman 8000 (2019 Arctic Cat Norseman 8000). Incident: On March 4th, 2022 I had a fire on a snowmobile I own. It is a 2019 Arctic Cat 8000 Norseman. Recall Number 19-740. The snowmobile did just what the recall indicated and started fire around the muffler and muffler outlet. Since then I have been in touch with the selling dealer (Road, Track & Trail, LLC) and with Arctic Cat. I now have the sled sitting at a dealer close to me ([REDACTED]) waiting for Arctic Cat to do something. In Talking to Arctic Cat ([REDACTED]) he started out saying the selling dealer should have done the update before selling it. Road, Track and Trail indicated it was Arctic Cat place to update before selling to them. Than after the owner of Road, Track and Trail got involved [REDACTED] changed his story. After the sled was at my dealer ([REDACTED) [REDACTED] (Arctic Cat) said he did not know if the update was done or not. My dealer said they talked to him and had told him it was not. From start to now [REDACTED] (Arctic Cat) has tried to throw anyone they could under the bus to keep from taking any reasonability. Now [REDACTED] will not return my calls and my sled is sitting at my dealer with the side panels melted from the fire. What I would like to know is how can I put in a formal complaint against Arctic Cat? Also can you provide what government agency I would do that with? The recall says to immediately stop using the recalled snowmobile and contact Arctic Cat to schedule a free repair. I believe Arctic Cat feels if they drag this out long enough most people will go away. I�m not one of those people. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You [REDAC
