Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20220526-2DC2D-2147355986. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Uppababy 2017 Uppababy Cruz. Model Number 0417-CRZ-US. Source model text: Vista v2. Incident: I am using an uppababy vista v2 stroller. I am using it as a double stroller. I have had it for less than two years and during that time have had no major issues. One day I was taking a walk with my kids and the stroller collapsed. The top seat fell onto the bottom seat which could have seriously injured my daughter. I noticed quickly the cause of the issue which is that the stroller is broken at the bottom. I contacted the company they did not offer to do a refund and have not at this time offered to replace the product. Moreover, I have concerns about the overall safety of the product with two seats given what they have listed as the weight and height capacity. I believe that either the second seat, the rumble seat, needs to be recalled or the height and weight capacity needs to be changed. It can cause a risk of suffocation or serious injury if the stroller is to suddenly collapse and the top seat gives out. I made the company aware of this and they did not seem to care.
