Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20220603-2E174-2147355829. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Lettuce Grow Indoor Farm Stand with Glow Rings. Source model text: Glow Rings. Incident: I have the Glow Rings from Lettuce Grow. At least a couple of times a week people say their lights have shorted out and they come home or are at home and smell of burning plastic. I have a set of these rings on my Lettuce Grow Farmstand. The rings are only to be used indoors and ALL reports have been properly used. Its a great product, but very expensive (around $500) for a full set of 6. The Farmstand is a hydroponic growing tower for produce and flowers. It has a teardrop shape barrel that holds 20 gallons water and nutrients with a pump at the bottom. It holds up to 6 Sections that hold 6 plants each. The Glow Rings are LED light rings that fit between the sections. The electrical connectors are waterproof and inside the tower where the water rains down on them. The shorts and burning seem to be confined to the outside wire connectors.
