Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20220610-F458F-2147355672. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: Frigidaire LFEF3054TF (Frigidaire 30-in Smooth Surface 5 Elements 5.4-cu ft Steam Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range (Easycare Stainless Steel). Serial #: Purchased from Lowes. Serial # VF91815029). Incident: Product: Frigidaire 30-in Smooth Surface 5 Elements 5.4-cu ft Steam Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range (Easycare Stainless Steel) purchased 3 years and 6 days ago from Lowes. Issue/who was using the product: today, after my husband cooked chicken at 400* for 20 minutes, the oven door exploded! Injuries: I slightly burned my hand as I immediately tried to clean up the glass. We rushed our pets and children out of the kitchen. As I type this, glass is still exploding all over my kitchen floor as the glass cools. This is a fairly new stove that has faced NO misuse. Frigidaire will not stand behind the product and told me to contact a repairman. Report Update 6/24/22: Frigidaire responded to my complaint with Better Business Bureau and offered me 50% of a replacement pane of glass. I politely declined because I do not want this dangerous appliance in my home. A few days ago, I was STILL cleaning broken glass off my floor (because it kept crackling and breaking) when the outer glass exploded all over my face and into my hair. The range had been unplugged for 3 days prior to the second explosion. This is clearly a manufactures defect that Frigidaire is washing their hands of. The stove has already been removed from my home and I purchased a replacement- NOT Frigidaire brand. However, I do not feel that this company should be let off the hook for selling such dangerous products to innocent consumers. Lastly, theyve moderated my reviews on their website dozens of times. So, they are basically refusing to allow the truth to be spoken about this appliance! Please let me know if
