Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20220627-C2A0D-2147355369. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Whirlpool WFG110AVQ0 (Whirlpool Gas Stove Range model WFG110AVQ0, white, 30 inch free standing.). Incident: 1. Whirlpool gas range has a faulty design, inadequate connection, and unsafe venturi tube (surface burner orifice) that is a safety hazard. I replaced the venturi tubes three times and the cost for replacements has cost me approximately the same as the entire gas range. Whirlpool was apathetic and offered no resolution. I want Whirlpool to replace the gas range with a safe model. The model I have the issue with is Whirlpool Gas Stove Range WFG110AVQ0; There are complaints from others on other models. 2. Whirlpool Gas Stove Range model WFG110AVQ0 and replacement venturi tubes that remain on the market although they are faulty, inadequate, and unsafe. 3. The tenant in the house was using the gas range. Unaware of the continued faulty design, I used the product, cleaning it before a new tenant moved in. The replacement tubes broke in a second incident. The replacement tubes broke in a third incident. 4. The product was used in normal cooking mode. Lifting the stove top caused the venturi tubes to break. Once broken, the tenant tried to light the stove manually creating a huge flame and safety hazard. I had the venturi tubes replaced. The issue happened again. I was able to duplicate the flame issue and smelled gas from the leaking venturi tubes. When the venturi tubes broke a third time, I realized that a complaint had to be filed. 5. There were no injuries. However, a serious burn or fire, maybe even an explosion and serious injury or death could have resulted from the faulty design, inadequate connection, and unsafe venturi tubes. Most persons would lift the top to clean. T
