Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20220711-E0059-2147355075. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Frigidaire Electric Range Model FFEF3054TS. Source model text: FFEF3054TSF. Incident: My family was watching a movie in our living room when we heard a pop and the outer glass of our oven door burst and shattered to pieces. The oven had not been used all day and the stove top had been used on low about 2 hours prior to the break. It was sitting unused. Luckily no one was near the oven when it spontaneously burst otherwise they would have been hurt. This is extremely dangerous especially with three small children in our home. Also, so glad no one was hurt while cleaning the glass as there were 1,000s of tiny sharp pieces. The youngest children still have not learned how dangerous broken glass can be and I hate to think what would have happened if I had not been in the room. It was hard enough to clean up with the help of a second adult. This was a Frigidaire FFEF3054TSF range/oven combo.
