Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20221011-64FF2-2147353384. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Anker 321. Source model text: Model A3212. Incident: I purchased a set of Anker Soundcore Life U2 wireless headphones on March 1, 2022 from Walmart. On September 29, 2022, they caught on fire while be charged and melted the Anker provided charging cord into the headphones charging port. The "fire" was an arcing event that caused sparks and a high temperature melt of the plastic. I unplugged them from the charging block afterwards. The charging block is a standard phone charging block NOT provided by Anker as they only sold the headphones with the charging cord. The headphones did not work after this event.
