Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20221113-40F13-2147352701. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Samsung RF28JBEDBSR. Incident: My Samsung four door refrigerator, purchased in 2017, was defective and failed prematurely. The entire contents of the refrigerator, the middle drawer, and the bottom freezer failed and all the food spoiled. Even before it failed the ice maker constantly froze up and had to be manually defrosted every 3 days. When I called Samsung, they said the refrigerator was 5 years and 7 months old so there was no warranty. The refrigerator had two compressors, one for the refrigerator section and one for the freezer section and both compressors failed. We decided not to throw good money after bad and scrapped the Samsung refrigerator and purchased a new Frigidaire refrigerator. We will never purchase another Samsung appliance. They are just dangerous junk!
