Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20221202-6C724-2147352259. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Craftsman 247.288820. Source model text: 247.290005. Incident: I just had an accident with my [REDACTED]/ Craftsman riding mower. The bolt securing the steering column to the steering actuator shaft failed and I lost control and crashed into a hedge. The bolt looks to have suffered fatigue failure but the machine is fairly new, DOM June 2017. I found nothing in the way of safety recall. This defect presents an immediate danger to the operator and bystanders.
