Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20221216-274BD-2147351997. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: Husky 448-156 (Husky part number 448-156 16 gauge/9 foot indoor multi-outlet extension cord (Black) UPC 756847001051). Incident: My Experience and burns are exactly as described in United States Consumer Product Safety Commission's website Incident Report 6/23/2021 report number [REDACTED]. I plugged in a [REDACTED] which was OFF into a Home Depot Branded Husky part number 448-156 extension cord. Upon immediate contact, fire existed all three ground terminals and I received 2nd and 3rd degree burns on my right index, middle, and ring fingers. The Home Depot was quick to apologize and the Executive Escalation team informed me that they checked their data base and this was an isolated incident. Per this website, this was false information. I refused to give them the cord after many attempts. I have personally delivered the cord to forensic lab exams with [REDACTED] (Charlotte, NC) and [REDACTED] (Sanford, NC). I have witnessed the X-ray and CT scan examinations. Home Depot hires [REDACTED] and they are not excepting fault for the personal injury claim. They have stated that the cause is due to the electrical outlet was not GFCI protected. They refuse to allow me to view the forensic investigation report stating that it is the property of The Home Depot. They are not addressing the cause of the fault, only a possible prevention so they can low bid the insurance claim. The insurance claim in not the only reason for my report. Exito Electronics CO. Ltd is the manufacture in China (Even though the label states Philippines) which has court cases in the United States of electrical fire that has caused death.
