Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20221218-FE4FA-2147351976. Severity: Injury, First Aid Received by Non-Medical Professional. Product: Duracell Optimun (Duracell Optimum AAA Batteries). Incident: Duracell Optimum AAA sized batteries. I've had two of them blow up on me. I was attempting to use them in a brand new Duracell headlamp. And all the batteries were all brand new, and purchased from Rite Aid. I was wearing the headlamp at the time of the explosion(s). after the first one blew up in my headlamp, I immediately attempted to notify the Duracell company as to what happened. Because battery acid leaked onto my face and clothes. I received no replies back from them. It broke my brand new Duracell headlamp. And considering it was so close to my eyes, it could of blinded me. I received no feedback from them. No apology or nothing. No offers to refund my money or replace my headlamp. Well, I looked at it as maybe being just an isolated incident. So, I let it go and almost forgot about it. Until it happened again last night. Same exact situation brand new Duracell headlamp Brand new Duracell platinum batteries. But it happened again last night. Exploded inside of my headlamp. Twice now. I feel like they should reimburse me for the headlamps and the batteries. I could've been blinded. *NOTE- I don't mind of my information to share with Duracell company. [REDACTED] Thank You
