Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20230115-D703B-2147351397. Matched catalog product: Whirlpool Model #wrf767sdhz 26.8 cu ft 3 door French door re. Source model text: WML55011HS-2. Incident: #1- physical injury! My WHIRLPOOL microwave, model WML55011HS-2, has on several occasions cut me horizontally along my neck/chin when the door is opened or closed. The door bottom edge is very very sharp and pointed. Initially, I was kinda shocked as I have never had anything like this happen, but it has happened several times and to other people who have used it, therefore I feel it is a unsafe design that can cause injury. I am not sure why they would have such a razor sharp pointed edge on the door that opens into the customers body space. This design will cut/hit people in different places on their body depending on that person's height. For preteens will be on their face and head, for me it was on my neck as I am 5'5" tall. Serious design flaw!!
