Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20230405-09A29-2147348269. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Whirlpool WRFF3736SZ French door refrigerator. Source model text: WRS571CIHZ02. Incident: Our Whirlpool Side-by-side refrigerator suddenly stopped making ice. Upon investigating, several wires inside the freezer door have been severed. It is clearly a design flaw that Whirlpool is aware of. In fact, it is a VERY COMMON problem among other owners, as we have read on a [REDACTED] thread with hundreds of complaints. Our family has used the product for 21 months of every day use, before this occurred. There have not been any injuries, but wires are exposed and that is a fire hazard.
