Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20230424-D1569-4184887. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Samsung NE63B8211SS (Induction Oven Stove top induction, oven electric). Incident: Caller stated that the induction oven was delivered on March 23, 2023, had a toxic odor, she was told that she needed to heat up the range for several hours and let the home ventilate before using it, also to clean it thoroughly after using it to cook. Caller stated that she did that for several hours and it still had the odor. She stated that she used the oven to bake bread, but it burnt the top of the bread, and the content was uncooked. Caller stated that she tried to bake again and noticed that the range changed from bake to broil while watching the oven. Caller stated that she contacted the retailer and the manufacturer, she was informed by the manufacturer that they would not replace the unit because it was over 48 hours. Caller stated that she noticed several similar complaints about these units online. Caller would like the manufacturer to provide her with a new replacement, because there is still a toxic odor, and the unit changes the mode spontaneously by itself. Caller feels that this induction oven is a fire hazard and should be recalled.
