Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20230707-51687-2147346554. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Onewheel Pint X (Future Motion Onewheel Pint X). Incident: There is a known and ignored safety issue with the batteries on Future Motion's OneWheel Pint X. The battery box that contains the large, dangerous lithium ion battery has sharp edges that crimp the battery wires. This can cause errors, the rider to be thrown off the board, or fires. Every Pint X that has been opened appears to have damaged wires. They are boards that show damage upon opening the box that just after arrival directly from the manufacturer. Future Motion refuses to recall, refund, or repair the root cause of the issue. They are assuring customers there is nothing wrong, but also told me in an email "Our leadership is investigating the production of new battery units to ensure they are built safely and within tolerance". They are clearly aware that there is an issue, but are refusing to take action. This is all being documented at [REDACTED]
