Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20230813-5AED4-2147345835. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Matched catalog product: Samsung RF23R6201SR. Incident: I purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator in August 2021 because I have other Samsung appliances in my home. After about a year, my fridge started making a funny noise and I noticed ice building up in the back of the inside of the fridge. I called Samsung for service and they referred me to my local Samsung approved repair center, the only one in my area. That service center was booked for weeks and also had several negative [REDACTED] reviews. The thermostat inside my fridge reads 37 degrees, but when I place my own thermometer inside the temperature is often around 55 degrees. This is unsafe for storing foods and now that I think about it is probably the cause of some of my many gastrointestinal issues within the past year. I searched online and found several other accounts of people with the same issue. I can't believe these products haven't been recalled and that Samsung is still selling them with this known issue.
